The great thing about the BMW X5 is that it handles more like a car then an SUV. It also outperforms most of the the other vehicles in it's class. Including the Toyota Land Cruiser. This car is essentially a good combination of sports sedan and sport-utility vehicle. However, the steering is a little bit sluggish and it has less cargo space then you would think.

The X5 sport-utility vehicle is more affordable for 2001, But the engine is different then the V8 you would normally find. The new engine is a V6 and the price is decreased by $10,500. The new X5 costs $49,400 with a V8 but only $38,900 with the six. This allows BMW to compete in the lower end of the market with the Ford Explorer and Jeep Grand Cherokee models while also keeping their upscale model line running.
