The Ford Taurus SHO has a high powered Yamaha engine which distinguishes it from the regular Ford Taurus model. SHO stands for super high output. Ford contracted Yamaha to build the engines powering Taurus SHO's. Unfortunately Ford stoped manufacturing this automoble in 1999. It was a great run that lasted from 1989 to 1999.

For the first four years of production, the only engine available was a 3.0L mated with a 5-speed manual transmission. But automatics were introduced and this car was really ready to hit the road. Instead of being a v6 or a v8 it is really a 24 valve engine. Take a look for yourself.
