Most models come with standard four-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission. The exterior adjustments in the 2002 Maxima are minor and include headlight and taillight styling tweaks. The lower fascia has a larger air intake. New for this year, and standard on every Maxima, are high intensity discharge (HID) xenon headlights.
