The original Grand Prix debuted in 1962 as Pontiac's answer to the four place T-Bird, which began the personal-luxury coupe market segment. There were many generations of the Grand Prix. The '62 model was the first. The '63-'64 was the second. '65 to '66 was the third. 1967 and 1968 were stand alone model years, so they would be the fourth and the fifth, respectively. The '69 through '72 model was the sixth generation . The '73-'77 was the seventh. 1978-'80 was the eighth. 1981 through 1987. 1988 and running until 1996, is the tenth generation. And this generation is great

The 11th generation is the new Wide Track GP. Which is featured above. Currently the only competitor to the Grand Prix is the new Monte Carlo. The newly designed Grand Prix starts at about $20,000 US for the SE Sedan. But if you wanted the highly acclaimed GTP Coupe Sedan the price starts at about $25,000 dollars. The 1997 version is the commemorative version of the car created for the 30th anniversary of continuous production. Make it another thirty Grand Prix!!!
