The Pontiac Firebird was innitially a hot muscle car created for the 1960's. And even today it still has the power it was originally given. The car was created by Pontiac under the supervision of John Delorean the head of that company at that time. It was designed to compete with the Ford Mustang. The original design of this car by Delorean never made it under prodution under the Pontiac name. Instead the first design of the firebird actually became the newly designed Corvette. The first generation of this car went into production from 1967-1969. And the second generation started in 1970-1981.
